Jennifer Constantine has dedicated her career to teaching reading and spelling, exploring many approaches and methodologies along the way. Yet, it wasn’t until she discovered Structured Word Inquiry that the picture truly came into focus. Released from the constraints of a particular program or method, she now possesses the freedom to illuminate the intricacies of the English orthographic system, instilling a passion for learning and inquiry in students of all ages. It was a revelation to finally understand that English actually does make sense, and is a source of constant joy to be able to share that understanding with students. When not teaching, Jennifer enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family and nurturing her food garden.

Kara Lee embarked on her professional journey as a school psychologist before transitioning to the classroom, where she found great joy in collaborating with colleagues and teaching students to read. A lifelong learner, she has always been eager to understand best practices in literacy instruction. Despite years of dedication to implementing Structured Literacy techniques, Kara found herself disillusioned by prevailing perceptions of English as chaotic and exception-laden. Her perspective underwent a transformation with the introduction of Structured Word Inquiry. Finally grasping the underlying principles of the English writing system, Kara feels better equipped to empower both children and adults on their linguistic explorations. Kara values quality time spent with loved ones, taking walks, and reading books with her daughter.
